The Roommatch extension sits on the SpareRoom page you opened, reads what's in front of you, and writes a personalised message about your room. You stay in the driving seat — it never searches, logs in or sends for you.
You do the searching
Run your own SpareRoom search as normal — filters, area, budget, whatever you'd usually use.
Roommatch drafts on the page
Open an ad and a panel appears bottom-right with a message written from that advert and your property details.
You review and send
One click fills SpareRoom's own message box. Edit anything, then press their send button. Nothing goes out on its own.
Installing it
- 1.Unzip the downloaded file.
- 2.Open chrome://extensions in Chrome, Edge, Brave or Arc.
- 3.Turn on Developer mode (top right).
- 4.Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
- 5.Click the Roommatch icon and save your property details once.
Why it works this way
SpareRoom's terms don't allow bots to log in, crawl listings or send messages on your behalf, and accounts that do it get suspended. The extension is assistive: it only ever reads a page you personally opened and only ever fills a box you press send on. Your details stay on your own machine — nothing about the ads you browse is uploaded to Roommatch.
